Abstract / Description:A two-phase model of a reactor for the production of acetic acid is presented and simulation results are compared to results obtained for a one-phase model described in a previous study. It is shown that the new model yields significant improvements in describing both the nonlinear steady state and the dynamic transient behaviour as can be seen from comparisons with measured data from the real plant.
