Abstract / Description:The effect of thermodynamic interactions on the structure and dynamics of isotopic and binary low molecular mass poly(siloxane) blends was studied by means of small angle neutron scattering and neutron spin echo spectroscopy in the macroscopically homogenous regime. It was found that the Rouse dynamics becomes governed by spatial restrictions, if the correlation length of the compositional fluctuations is comparable to the size of the individual polymer chains. The experimental findings fit to the model of droplet formation and chain localisation.
