Abstract / Description:We describe observations of aromatic features at 7.7 and 11.3 μm in AGNs of three types including PG, 2MASS and 3CR objects. The features have been demonstrated to originate predominantly from star formation. The star-forming infrared luminosity function of PG quasars is flatter than that of field galaxies, implying nuclear activity and star formation tend to be enhanced together. A high detection rate of aromatic features in a complete zËœ1 quasar sample implies a stronger evolution of star formation in quasar hosts than that in field galaxies.
