Abstract / Description:In this issue of Molecular Cell, Tripathi and coworkers (Tripathi et al., 2010) decode some of the functions of a long noncoding RNA MALAT1. They provide evidence that MALAT1 regulates alternative splicing by controlling the activity of the SR protein family of splicing factors.
